Klitschko’s Deputy Offered $ 5 Million for Joining Pro Government Majority

The newly elected MP from Udar party in 144 district Serhii Kaplin claims he was offered $ 5 million for joining the pro-government majority .

He said this in an interview to Ukraina Moloda.

Responding to the question of clarifying the circumstances under which the proposal was made, he said:

"It was a phone call. The caller asked if I was ready to change the political party and, accordingly, the faction in the Verkhovna Rada."

"Answering my question who does he represent, the answer was 'I cannot name the particular political force but it will be a pro-government team. The name Party of Regions was not said in the conversation," said Kaplin.

"My agreement was priced in the sum of five million dollars. At that as a bonus I was offered to employ my people into the state bodies," he added.

"This is not why before the elections I went from house to house, I saw the tears of impoverished and desperate people ready to sell their votes, and their hopes," outraged Kaplin.

He also said that the call came from an undisclosed number.
