We are Ready to Raise Utility Rates for Compromise with IMF, Azarov

This was announced by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a meeting with foreign journalists, reports RIA Novosti Ukraine.

"We said that we are prepared to set corresponding tariffs equal to nominal price for those who have European salary and income," said Azarov.

He stressed that the IMF loan is not critically important for Ukraine, that is why the government continues to negotiate, hoping to achieve acceptable conditions of cooperation. Azarov said that the level of income for most of the population is still low, so people will not be able to pay the full cost.

"As for the increase in gas tariffs for the population - to the extent to which the IMF told us - we can not do," Prime Minister added.
