Russian Militants Intend to Penetrate Border - State Border Guard Service
The assistant of the head of the State Border Service of Ukraine colonel Serhii Astakhov said at briefing, Censor.NET informs citing Novyi Rehion Ukraina.
"According to our information, the threat of a border breakthrough from the Russian side by trained militants' formations of the Russian Federation still exists. We are aware of these plans and we are taking all measures to forestall such a breakthrough. We guard the border and continue to release the border checkpoints, previously captured by terrorists," he said.
Astakhov reminded that eight border checkpoints were officially closed. Russia closed two border crossing points and then opened one of them again. "We may observe that Russia closes some border crossing points occasionally. Ukraine has officially stopped traffic through eight border points and this will last until peace is restored. It is impossible for the vehicles from the Russian side to cross the border," Astakhov assured.
