Gunshots and Explosions Heard in Donetsk at Night. In Luhansk Six People Were Injured

On the night of July 9, residents reported sounds of gunfire and explosions in the "Motel" neighborhood. At that, as of 9:00 a.m. the situation in the city is relatively calm.

It is reported by Censor.NET, citing the official website of Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukianchenko.

As noted by the mayor's office, there were fireworks in Kuibyshev district that many people took for bombings.

"As of 9:00 a.m. the situation in Donetsk is relatively calm. The city's vital services are operating in a normal mode," the press-service adds.

Meanwhile the situation in Luhansk in recent days has been uneasy.

"Over the past 24 hours there were armed clashes around the city. The sounds of shelling were heard in different parts of Luhansk. As a result of an artillery shell hitting Olkhova and Darvina streets in Vydne-1 village, the facade of a residential building was damaged, windows were shattered and a fence damaged. As a result of an explosion in Teplyche village on Molodizhna street a house was destroyed," the statement of the Luhansk City Council says.

"In 24 hours, there were 186 calls to the EMS for ambulance, including 6 due to gunshot wounds and injuries sustained in the fighting," the Luhansk City Council adds.
