Visa-Free Regime Between Ukraine and EU is a Matter of Near Future - Barroso

He stated this at a briefing in Kyiv, Censor.NET reports with reference to UNIAN.

"I want to emphasize and say to our Ukrainian friends, that we consider our relations in a strategic plan. I would like to see Ukraine closer to the EU, if this is the will of the Ukrainian people. And as President Poroshenko said, it concerns primarily the visa regime, visa-free system in the near future. Visa-free regime should be the driving force and the unification of Ukrainians and Europeans," Barroso said.

Next week a mission of European experts will come to Ukraine, which will assess the implementation of the second phase of the action plan regarding the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU. Ukraine has completed the 1st phase of the action plan (legislative), and proceeded to the second stage (implementation).
