The Russian-occupation troops continue violating New Year and Christmas truce by attacking Ukraine’s Armed Forces with weapons banned by the Minsk agreements.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) headquarters press center as of Jan. 16, 2018.

“In Donetsk direction, three 120-mm mortar shells fired by the invaders at dusk hit Ukrainian troops’ defenses on the outskirts of the seaside village of Vodiane.

“The ATO forces’ strongpoints near Luhanske village in Luhansk direction were fired upon with grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. The invaders shelled defenders of Troitske with 82-mm mortars.

"The combined Russian and terrorist forces committed a total of three assaults on the Ukrainian troops in the past 24-hour period. The Ukrainian soldiers opened no fire in response. Two servicemen received combat traumas as a result of the enemy’s hostile actions. They were promptly taken to the military hospital. Their health condition is satisfactory," the situation report reads.

Earlier, the Russian mercenaries fired upon the Ukrainian troops thrice on Jan. 15.
