Three servicemen killed, nine injured as mortar exploded during drills at Rivne-based training area, - MoD
As reported by Censor.NET, the Defense Ministry confirmed to TSN media outlet that three persons were killed and another nine received injuries of varying severity.
"All the personnel who were next to the weapon either did not survive or were hospitalized. The military does not disclose more details," the news agency said.
The press service of the Zakhid operational command later said that an incident that resulted in a number of deaths and injuries among the servicemen occurred during live-fire training in one of the military bases subordinate to the operational command. The circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated. Zakhid operational command staff offered sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased servicemen.
