As reported by Censor.NET citing the press service of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), the test was attended by agency chief Oleksandr Turchynov.
"A cruise missile manufactured in Ukraine has fully completed the planned program at today’s important stage of the flight test," Turchynov said adding that a waterborne target located 100 km away from the launch site was successfully destroyed.
The NSDC secretary stressed that missiles of this class are powerful high-precision weapons "capable of destroying any waterborne and surface targets."
"Ukrainian cruise missiles are capable of providing reliable defense for the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov coasts by destroying enemy vessels at a distance up to 300 kilometers even based in their home ports if necessary," he said.
According toTurchynov, military and infrastructure facilities, namely "strategic bridges and ferry crossings in case of their use by the enemy to launch acts of aggression against our country" may also be destroyed with the help of cruise missiles.
