As reported by a correspondent for Censor.NET from the scene, the rally is held by members of Chesno public movement, AvtoMaidan, Agrarian party, Svoboda party, Khvylia public movement, Hromadianska Pozytsia party, DemAliance, Yevropeiska Partia Ukrainy party, Narodnyi Kontrol, Narodnyi Rukh Ukrainy, National Corps, Samopomich party, Syla Liudei, Vyzvolennia, Rukh Novykh Syl, Ukrainska Halytska Partia, UKROP, Ukrainske Obiednannia Patriotiv.

"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, namely Petro Poroshenko Bloc and People’s Front factions must fulfill their promise - abolish Yanukovych's electoral law and adopt the new Electoral Code that provides for parliamentary elections through proportional representation with open regional lists. The current electoral system is a root of corruption among Ukrainian politicians, and, consequently, among all the senior officials. It was introduced in 2011 on the direct order of Viktor Yanukovych," the rally organizers said.

They recalled that "right after the Revolution of Dignity, Petro Poroshenko promised to abolish the old corrupt electoral system and establish a proportional one with open regional lists. 302 MPs who signed the Coalition Agreement later vowed to do so. Last November, following public pressure, 226 lawmakers supported the Electoral Code in the first reading."

"However, the president and his faction now have a great temptation to downvote the electoral reform. It will be much easier for the most ill-famed corrupt officials to stay in power under the old election system through massive vote buying and advantages of administrative offices they enjoy under the majority system. The majority constituencies are being divided as we speak... The primary requirement of the Revolution of Dignity - to change the system, not the officials – must be fulfilled. The electoral reform is what can actually change the system," the rally organizers stressed.

Women from all across Ukraine also gathered outside the Verkhovna Rada demanding to codify in the new election legislation a 50 percent gender quota. They demand that the electoral legislation to impose mandatory sanctions against those political forces that violate the quota principle while forming list of candidates.
