Poroshenko openly calls Russia aggressor state, shares no Medvedchuk’s political views, - Presidential Administration denies allegations of common interests between politicians
The Administration of the Ukrainian President flatly denies the conclusions made by the journalists for Skhemy project that Poroshenko and Medvedchuk have common business interests assuring that their meetings concerned the exchange of prisoners alone.
"President Petro Poroshenko never had, does not have and is not going to have any common business interests or businesses with the Special Representative of the Security Service of Ukraine on the release of hostages to the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) in Minsk, Viktor Medvedchuk. We consider the allegations unworthy of your project. The president held several meetings with Medvedchuk during which he expressed dissatisfaction with the delay of the liberation of the Ukrainian political prisoners of the Kremlin, who are unlawfully held in Russia and in the territories occupied by it. It was done solely to get the matter off the ground," the Presidential Administration told Censor.NET.
"President Poroshenko openly calls Russia the aggressor state and does not share Viktor Medvedchuk’s ideas and political statements. However, the president repeatedly said he was willing to negotiate with anyone, even with the devil himself, in order to free our hostages," the presidential press office said.
