According to Turchynov, the participants of the exercises were tasked with working out the coordination of actions and interaction between the security forces, and the resolution of complex tasks to ensure the citizens' safety in the conditions of martial law.

"The scenarios of ensuring law and order and security of citizens during various emergency situations, the elimination of subversive groups, the localization of man-made and natural emergencies, as well as resolving abnormal situations at the state border, etc. have been practiced," the NSDC secretary said adding that representatives of all agencies (about 1,200 people and over 100 units of military and specialized equipment) who participated in the exercise, demonstrated excellent results and high professional skills.

"No rights and freedoms of citizens have been limited in any region despite the martial law and implemented package of military and security tasks, preparation and mobilization of the country for countering full-scale aggression," Turchynov told journalists.

The NSDC secretary emphasized that the imposition of martial law "provides an opportunity to comprehensively check the country's readiness to counteract a full-scale military aggression."

"The mobilization-related tasks and plans are being work out to the last detail, the readiness of all the government bodies, first of all, the security forces, to fulfill their functions in a special period is being checked, territorial and civil defense is being verified, as well as the ability to quickly redeploy large military units at a considerable distance to the most dangerous directions in case of offensive," he said.

"A large-scale check of the country's defense capability significantly strengthens our ability to counter any aggression," the official said.
