Poroshenko: I stand by minister Suprun. Reformed Supreme Court to ascertain the truth

Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko said that he supports Uliana Suprun suspended from her duties as a health minister by Kyiv Administrative Court, but he is not authorized to comment on the decision.

As reported by Censor.NET, the president’s press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko quoted Poroshenko.

Tseholko said the president commented on the court’s decision at the American Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting.

"I want to emphasize that as a president I am not authorized by law to comment on the court’s decision. But I want to say that Mrs. Suprun has full support of the Ukrainian president.

"I highly value what we did together with Mrs. Suprun, the government and the parliament for medical reform. I really appreciate the help that I, as a president, receive in health care issues in the rural area.

"I am also proud to have started the judicial reform. I have no doubts that the reformed Supreme Court will establish the truth.

"I want to remind you that the issue of citizenship belongs to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ukraine president. I have met Uliana Suprun recently and want to emphasize that she is a Ukrainian citizen under the act signed by the President Petro Poroshenko," Poroshenko said.

As reported earlier, Radical Party leader Oleh Liashko said that Kyiv’s administrative court dismissed Suprun from her health minister post.
