Lutsenko: 18 policemen killed on Maidan also victims and part of Heavenly Hundred
18 policemen killed on Maidan in 2014 are also victims and part of Heavenly Hundred.
As reported by Censor.NET, Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko said this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee for Legislative Support of Law Enforcement.
Lutsenko showed one of the investigation volumes with the evidence regarding the names of those who gave illegal orders to shoot at civilians on Maidan.
He emphasized the necessity of conviction in absentia, which will create conditions for bringing these people to justice. Lutsenko also mentioned that with the creation of State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) the conviction in absentia has become impossible.
"I emphasize that we are talking about all sides of the conflict, because there are 18 policemen who are part of the Heavenly Hundred. They are also victims. They were directly dependent on the orders and actions of the former president, former head of the Ministry of Interior, former head of the SBU," said Lutsenko.
As reported earlier, Yurii Lutsenko declared that the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has completed the investigation of mass killings on Maidan in 2014. The suspects include ex-President Viktor Yanukovych. He may be sentenced for life for the illegal orders.
