Reuters: story based on BBC report about Ukrainian president and Trump lawyer Cohen is withdrawn
Reuters removed the material with the headline "Ukraine paid Trump's lawyer Cohen for organizing negotiations at the White House - the BBC."

May 23, 2018, story headlined, "Ukraine paid Trump lawyer Cohen to arrange White House talks -BBC," is being withdrawn after the BBC said its report was incorrect.
President Administration called this statement and the relevant materials on the BBC website and in the News at Ten TV program "blatant lies, slander and fake." The Administration also reported that in the process of preparing the materials, the comment about the unreliability of this information was ignored, and therefore the president was demanded to have him refuted. If this does not happen, the administration reserved the right to go to court.
September 2018, Petro Poroshenko filed a lawsuit against the media corporation. At the preliminary hearings in London, representatives of the media corporation argued that the materials contained no indication that Poroshenko knew in advance about the payment. Therefore, as noted by the BBC, such a statement cannot be considered defamation.
BBC apologized and agreed to pay the compensation to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
