Ukraine Won Property Rights for 1,500 km of the Russian Pipeline

The prosecutor's office of the Rivne region won Ukraine’s ownership of the Samara West Direction and Groznyi-Armavir-Trudovaya parts of the pipeline in the court of law.

The Prosecutor General's Office, Rivne Economic Court of Appeal on Nov. 25 transferred Samara West Direction and Groznyi-Armavir-Trudovaya parts of the pipeline with a total length of 1,433 km to the state ownership of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.

"The parts of the pipeline were illegally registered to the subsidiary of Prikarpatzapadtrans of the Russian joint stock company Transnefteprodukt, the PGO notes.

Earlier, the court of first instance has already passed from the property sections of pipelines "Prikarpatzapadtrans" in favor of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. Rivne Economic Court of Appeal later overturned that decision.

Later, Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine sent the case back for retrial by Rivne Economic Court of Appeal, as a result of which the decision was rendered on Nov. 25.

Transnefteprodukt is 100% owned by Transneft, a Russian monopoly of oil pipeline transport.
