UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed Abdullah Abdul Samad Dashti as the new coordinator of the Black Sea Grain Initiative

According to Censor.NЕТ with reference to Іnterfax-Ukraine, this was reported on the website of the organization on Wednesday.

"UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today announced the appointment of Abdullah Abdul Samad Dashti of Kuwait as the UN Coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the statement said.

Since August 2022, this position was held by Amir Mahmoud Abdullah from Sudan. Guterres thanked him for his work and dedication to the initiative.

The grain agreement was concluded in Istanbul on July 22. With the participation of the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, two documents were signed on the creation of a corridor for the export of grain from three Ukrainian ports (Chornomorsk, Odesa and Pivdennyi), as well as on the removal of barriers to the export of Russian food and fertilizers.
