About 500 Iranian kamikaze drones have been destroyed by air defense since September, - Ihnat
In the latest massive attack, air defenses destroyed 100% of the drones that were launched by Russia. Since September, Ukrainian defenders have destroyed almost half a thousand enemy drones.
This was reported by the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Ihnat, on the air of the nationwide telethon, Censor.NET informs with reference to Ukrinform.
"If they are going to bomb at such a pace as those two nights, then judging by the information already announced by certain of our special services, intelligence information about a new batch of 250 (drones - ed.), at least half of them have already been used, then somewhere you can tentatively count," Ihnat noted.
However, the numbers are not final as Russia may be bringing in the next batch of drones from Iran. Therefore, Ukraine is preparing for new massive attacks by the Russian Federation.
"We will prepare. We are shooting down drones. As you can see, in two days - it is New Year's Eve and after New Year's Eve - 84 drones were shot down. 100% were shot down by Air Defense. Such results have never been achieved before. Drones are already approaching half a thousand since September 11. That's half a thousand drones shot down. A little less and cruise missiles. I count attacks on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine since September 11," the spokesman said.
Ihnat also noted that the enemy is deliberately increasing the use of cheap Iranian drones to wear down air defenses and exert psychological pressure on citizens.
