Biden’s administration has no doubt that broad support for Ukraine will continue during 118th session of US Congress, which officially began on Tuesday.

This was stated during a briefing by US Department of State spokesman Ned Price, informs Censor.NЕТ referring to Ukrinform.

"We are absolutely confident that our approach towards Ukraine will continue to have the support of both parties," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

He reminded that the last time Congress demonstrated this in late December, when it passed a large-scale package of defense, economic and humanitarian support for Ukraine and its allies in Europe with a bipartisan majority. This funding, he said, is designed, among other things, to provide assistance to Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes, as well as to countries that support Ukrainian refugees.

"During our interaction with the Congress, we heard from both Democrats and Republicans that they understand the need for continued support of the Ukrainian people," Price emphasized.

The State Department spokesman explained that it is about the principles of the global peaceful order established almost eight decades ago. And if Russia is allowed to commit aggression against its peaceful neighbor, not only it will perceive it as a carte blanche, but also other similar countries.

"That's why it's important for us, it's important for the Congress, that we maintain this approach," the US State Department spokesman said.

In this regard, Price noted that a large number of last session's Congress members, who will work now, express broad support for the people and government of Ukraine.
