There will be no mandatory mobilization of women until 2026, - Ministry of Defense
Ukrainian women will not be subject to mandatory mobilization until 2026. The changes concern only the accounting system.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar announced this on the air of the telethon, Censor.NET informs with reference to Ukrinform.
"There is no mobilization of women. Now there are changes related to the registration system. Until 2026, even Ukrainian women who have a medical specialty - the only one for which they can be mobilized - will not have to be registered. Other professions - only on a voluntary basis ", she said.
According to Maliar, about 5,000 women are currently at the front voluntarily. At the same time, she assured that changes to simplify the conscription system were planned and developed by the General Staff even before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
"There is nothing there that would complicate the situation of reservists, conscripts, people who are registered. It is about simplifying the registration system," she said.
