Ukraine needs tanks from its Western partners to form at least one tank brigade. Germany should join the international coalition that will deliver tanks to Kyiv.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak said this at a press conference after the end of a video conference with the defense ministers of Great Britain, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, as well as representatives of the Czech Republic and Slovakia on the topic of further assistance to Ukraine, reports Censor.NET with reference on Ukrinform.

"Our task is to convince and show that only real, genuine help matters. Otherwise, we face very bad prospects," Blaszczak said.

The minister noted that during a video conference with partners, he spoke about Poland's readiness to transfer a company of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine within the framework of a broad coalition of countries.

"Ukraine must be supported by providing it with at least a brigade of tanks, and maybe more. Therefore, this coalition of states is necessary for real support for Ukraine in this situation in which it finds itself," Blaschak emphasized.

He noted that he will announce this proposal again on Friday at a meeting in Ramstein. He expressed hope that Germany, which is the manufacturer of Leopard 2 tanks, will join this coalition.

Blaschak noted that there are countries that provide real assistance to Ukraine, but there are also those that "help symbolically, or it is only on paper."
