Russian offensive from Belarus may be more likely at end of 2023, - ISW
Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) gave their forecast when to expect an offensive from Belarus.

"Senior officials of the Kremlin continue to hold high-level meetings with the Belarusian leadership, which may create conditions for a Russian attack on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus, although not necessarily and not in the coming weeks," the report said.
According to the Institute's analysts, a new Russian attack on Ukraine by Belarus in early 2023 looks less likely given Russia's current military activity in Belarus.
"A new 'most dangerous attack scenario' from Belarus in late 2023 appears more likely," the report says.
At the same time, Russian military bloggers continue to criticize the idea of Russian troops attacking Ukraine from Belarus.
They consider it a bad idea for Russia to significantly expand the front with Belarus, since the combat characteristics of Russian troops have improved after the front was compressed after Russia's withdrawal from Kherson," ISW notes.
Experts also observe that Lukashenko continues to balance against the Kremlin, presenting Belarus as a sovereign state within the framework of the Russian-dominated Union State. Lukashenka's statement following the meeting with Lavrov stated that he and Lavrov identified undefined areas of cooperation to "preserve the sovereignty of the two countries from all sides."
