The Ukrainian military continues to fight in the Lyman direction in the Luhansk region. However, the weather and resources are not yet conducive to an offensive.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Serhii Cherevaty, on the air of the telethon, Censor.NET informs with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
"Several factors influence, first of all, we are not Russians. We do not abandon our units when we do not have reserves, sufficient fire support. Therefore, we act as prescribed by adequate modern military science. When we had these opportunities, we advanced - weather conditions, reserves," he explained.
Cherevaty noted that the lack of progress does not mean that the fighting has stopped. Our defenders in the Lyman direction continue to destroy enemy logistics and warehouses.
"Combat tasks are different - they are not always offensive actions. It is the exhaustion of the enemy, but there is a moment when you can go to more decisive actions and break through the enemy's defenses, as was the case in the Kharkiv region," the spokesman added.
According to Cherevaty, the offensive of troops depends not only on available resources but also on weather conditions. Although the spokesman did not rule out that a "powerful fist" must be gathered for a counteroffensive, referring to the military assistance of partners.
