The United States believes that the possible transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine is not urgent now, but a matter for the future.

This was stated by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, at every stage of the war, US leader Joe Biden wanted to make sure that Ukraine received all the weapons it needed.

He clarified that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, these were Javelin anti-tank missile systems and Stinger man-portable air defense systems. The second stage will include artillery to help deter the Russian offensive in the east.

"At this stage, the ability to maneuver on the ground is a critical element. This means tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles. That's why the president says he is focused on these capabilities. The F-16 issue is a question for the future," Sullivan added.

When asked whether the United States could approve the delivery of such fighters to Ukraine in the future, the Biden adviser said he could not go beyond what the President said.
