Enemy is trying to conduct offensive operations in Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, - General Staff
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published information on operational information regarding the Russian invasion as of March 18, 2023.

In the evening summary, it is noted: "During the day, the enemy launched 30 air and 6 missile strikes, carried out more than 20 attacks from rocket salvo systems, in particular, on civilian infrastructure. The threat of missile strikes by the Russian Federation remains high throughout Ukraine. The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Shakhtarsk directions.
- In the Volyn, Polissia, Siversk, and Slobozhansk directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. The enemy continues to hold certain units in the areas bordering Ukraine. During the past day, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery attacks on Medvedivka settlements of the Chernihiv region; Sobky, Bachivsk, Ulanov, Starykov, Atynske, Pavlivka, Riasne of the Sumy region and districts of about 10 settlements of the Kharkiv region. Among them - Strelecha, Staritsa, Vovchansk, Budarky, Ambarne.
- In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the enemy continued to conduct offensive actions in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirne in the Donetsk region, without success. Conducted artillery shelling of populated areas near the contact line. Among them - Dvorichna, Kupyansk, Krokhmalne of the Kharkiv region; Makiivka, Kreminna, Dibrova and Bilohorivka - Luhansk and Siversk and Rozdolivka of Donetsk region.
- In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy does not stop trying to surround the city of Bakhmut. During the day, our defenders repelled numerous attacks in the areas of Vasiukivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka and Bakhmut settlements of the Donetsk region. Areas of settlements near the area of hostilities, in particular, Fedorivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Stupochki, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Diliivka, Mayorsk, and Pivnichne of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy shelling.
- The enemy unsuccessfully attacked the positions of our troops near the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Mariinka, and Pobeda in the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions. He carried out artillery and mortar shelling in the areas of almost 20 settlements. Among them are Vesele, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka of the Donetsk region.
- In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is on the defensive, trying to improve the tactical position in order to resume the offensive. Fired artillery at 15 settlements. In particular, these are Vremivka, Novosilka, Zelene Pole of the Donetsk region; Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region; Beryslav, Kozatske, Bilozerka and Dniprovske of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson, as well as the city of Ochakiv in the Mykolayiv region. There are dead and wounded among the civilian population.
- In Luhansk region, the so-called occupation authorities continue to put pressure on the local population, in particular on the least protected sections. In the settlements of the Swativ district, the invaders deprived people of the opportunity to receive pensions and other social benefits by turning off ATMs. Pensioners and other categories of the population in need of social protection are offered to receive cash payments on certain days. However, because of such an organization, people are mostly physically unable to get money.
During the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 5 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers. Also, our defenders shot down an enemy Su-34 aircraft and a "ZALA" type unmanned aerial vehicle.
During the day, units of missile forces and artillery hit the control post, 3 enemy concentration areas, an ammunition warehouse, 2 PMM warehouses, as well as the enemy's EW station."
