The faction of the ruling party of Hungary "Fidesz" decided to consider separately the issue of ratification of the protocols on joining the North Atlantic Alliance of Finland and Sweden.

As Censor.NET informs, "Euro Integration" reports about this with reference to the statement of the head of the Fidesz faction, Mate Kochish.

"On behalf of the Fidesz group, I would like to inform you that we have decided to support Finland's accession to NATO. We will postpone the parliamentary vote on this issue until March 27, when we will vote unanimously in favor," the parliamentarian wrote on Facebook.

He added that the parliament will make a decision on Sweden's accession to NATO later.

The day before, the Parliament of Hungary agreed to consider the issue of accepting new members of the Alliance on March 31.

Fidesz's decision appeared against the background of the announcement of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who said that the country would ratify the protocol on Finland's entry into the North Atlantic Alliance separately from Sweden.
