Ukraine was removed from black list of countries that destroy fight against corruption - Council of Europe

The Group of States of the Council of Europe Against Corruption (GRECO) has welcomed progress in preventing corruption against members of parliament, judges and prosecutors in Ukraine.
This is stated in the report published on Friday, Censor.NET reports with reference to Euro Integration.
The report assesses the progress made in implementing the recommendations made to the country in 2017 to prevent corruption among members of parliament, judges and prosecutors.
GRECO concluded that Ukraine has made some improvements, implementing satisfactorily or satisfactorily 15 out of 31 recommendations. Of the remaining recommendations, nine were partially implemented and seven were not implemented.
"Wartime led to the need to introduce martial law, a state of emergency and adjust priorities. In this context, it is notable that Ukraine, nevertheless, continued work on the implementation of GRECO's recommendations. Even if the work is still ahead, as indicated in this report, Ukraine's timely submission of information to GRECO, as well as the progress achieved, deserve high praise," the report says.
GRECO concludes that the current level of implementation of the recommendations is no longer "globally unsatisfactory", as it was after the previous report published in April 2022.
The group asked Ukraine to provide a report on the measures taken to implement the unfulfilled recommendations by March 31, 2024.
The report indicates that the GRECO session approved the removal of Ukraine from its blacklist of countries experiencing structural changes that undermine anti-corruption, or those where the state of anti-corruption is "globally unsatisfactory."
