Poland expands production of Krab self-propelled guns for Ukraine

Warsaw is expanding the production of Krab 155-mm self-propelled artillery units, which Poland is transferring to Ukraine. A new technological line will be deployed at the defense enterprise.
This was stated by Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak during a visit to the Bumar-Labedy military complex, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"In Bumar-Labedy, the production of Krab self-propelled guns will be launched," Morawiecki announced to the applause of the company's employees.
He added that thanks to this, new employees will be employed at the enterprise.
In turn, Blaschak announced that, in addition to the Huta Stalowa Wola defense enterprise in the city of Staleva Volya (south-east of the Republic of Poland), Krab self-propelled guns will also be produced at Bumar-Labedy from now on.
"As the Ministry of Defense, we ordered the next Krab self-propelled guns. They were also ordered by the Ukrainians because these weapons justify themselves in the hands of brave Ukrainian soldiers and effectively protect Ukraine from Russian aggression," Blaszczak emphasized.
It will be recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, Poland has transferred to Ukraine three batteries (18 units) of 155-mm Krab self-propelled artillery installations. Subsequently, in June, an agreement was signed between Ukraine and Poland on the purchase by Kyiv of about 60 Krab self-propelled guns. The value of the deal is 2.7 billion zlotys (over 650 million dollars), Ukraine became the first export customer of this type of weapon.
Krab self-propelled guns are also in service with the Polish Armed Forces.
