Xi Jinping on war in Ukraine: Dialogue and negotiations are only viable way out

Chinese President Xi Jinping advocates dialogue and negotiations as a way to end the war in Ukraine.

Xi Jinping said this after a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Censor.NET reports citing the Global Times.

"China will neither watch the fire from the other side nor add fuel to the fire, let alone take advantage of the opportunity to profit. Dialogue and negotiations are the only viable way out," he said, commenting on the war in Ukraine.

"As rational thinking and voices on all sides grow, we should seize the opportunity to accumulate favourable conditions for a political settlement of the crisis (war in Ukraine - Ed.)," Xi said, stressing that China will continue to promote peace talks and make its own efforts to end the war.
