President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of China Xi Jinping today, April 26, during the negotiations, exchanged views on the "peace plan" of the People’s Republic of China and the peace formula.

As Censor.NET informs, RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the statement of the spokesman of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Nikiforov on the air of the telethon.

According to him, the very fact of the negotiations was important, as they renewed the dialogue between the countries. At the same time, this event coincided with the appointment of the ambassador to China. The press secretary believes that this may mark the development of Ukrainian-Chinese relations.

"This is just the beginning of the dialogue. We were informed that China will appoint such a person (special representative - ed.), I saw her name somewhere. Let's see what she will come with. I understand that she will come to understand our position in detail. We are positive for such a direct dialogue with China," Nikiforov said.

He added that one of the topics of discussion was peace initiatives to end Russia's war against Ukraine.

"There was an exchange of views, that is, the President of the People's Republic of China has already personally presented the Chinese "peace plan", which is in the public domain and is very well known. The President of Ukraine spoke about his formula for peace, which is a priority for us. It is nice that there are certain moments, such points of intersection ", the press secretary said.

He clarified that the views of Ukraine and China coincide on the issue of non-use of nuclear weapons and their non-proliferation. Beijing also agreed that nuclear facilities cannot be taken hostage.

"These are the points of intersection from which we can start developing this dialogue. It is also nice that China is interested in restoring peace," Nikiforov added.

He also emphasized that it is still too early to make any assessments of the leaders' talks, as this is only the first step towards restoring relations between the countries.
