Viacheslav Zanevsky, the former head of the fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych’s bodyguards, helped the invaders spread the Kremlin regime and suppress the resistance movement after the capture of Kherson and part of the Mykolaiv region.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the SSU.

"According to the investigation, in July of last year, Zanevsky was approached by his son, who was part of the occupation groups of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied part of the south of Ukraine, with a request to assist the Russian penal authorities in identifying local Ukrainian patriots, including participants of the ATO and veterans of the Armed Forces.

In response to this, Zanevsky put his son in contact with two of his acquaintances, the heads of the "Ministry of Internal Affairs" and the "State Security Service" created by the aggressor in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. In the future, they transferred personal data about local residents to the Russian invaders and facilitated the kidnapping of people," the message reads.

In addition, Zanevsky advised the military units of the aggressor country on the tactics of conducting hostilities against the Defense Forces.

Investigators of the Security Service gathered evidence on another former top official who is hiding from justice in the territory of the aggressor country. The figure was informed about the suspicion under part 1 of Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance to the aggressor state).
