US will support Ukraine regardless of success of counteroffensive, - Pentagon
The Pentagon said that the US would support Ukraine as long as necessary, regardless of the success of the upcoming counter-offensive.
According to Censor.NET with reference to RBC-Ukraine, this was stated by the speaker of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Colonel Dave Butler.
Butler was asked whether Ukraine could be forced to negotiate with Russia if the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not win a complete and utter victory in the upcoming counter-offensive.
In his opinion, the Russian military will be surprised when the Ukrainian Defence Forces use the equipment received from their allies and use the skills they have acquired.
Butler added that in internal discussions and in conversations with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, there was never any talk of "if the Ukrainians don't achieve this and that, that's it".
"As our president has said, as many countries here have said, we will be in this with the Ukrainians for as long as it takes. And that is regardless of the concrete progress they make in the upcoming offensive," the colonel stressed.
