Corruption in Supreme Court: chairman of court, Kniazev, and another figure were detained, no suspicions have been brought yet, - SAPO

The SAPO confirmed the detention of the head of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, Vsevolod Kniazev.
This was stated by SAPO prosecutor Oleksandr Omelchenko during a briefing, Censor.NET informs.
"At this time, the head of the Supreme Court has been detained and measures are being taken to check other persons, their involvement in the criminal offense. At this time, it has not yet been served (the suspect. - Ed.), since Criminal Code gives us 24 hours to serve the notice of suspicion, it is being prepared and will be served," he noted.
"Currently, two people are detained on suspicion of committing a criminal offense. We will appeal to the High Council of Justice (with a request to suspend the judge from performing his duties. - Ed.)," clarified the SAPO prosecutor.
The prosecutor added that so far no person has been notified of the suspicion, but two people have already been detained.
"Currently, investigative actions are still being conducted with judges and mediators who acted in this scheme," clarified the head of SAPO, Oleksandr Klymenko.
According to him, proceedings have been opened under Part 4 of Art. 368 and Part 4. Article 369 of the Criminal Code (receipt of unlawful benefit, offer, and promise of such benefit). The sanction of the article provides for punishment from 8 to 12 years of imprisonment.
It will be recalled, that earlier, the NABU and SAPO reported on the exposure of large-scale corruption in the Supreme Court. According to the sources of the Central Committee, the head of the Supreme Court Kniazev was detained for a bribe of 2.7 million dollars.
