Mediation between Ukraine and Russia is possible only to restore territorial integrity and prevent freezing of conflict, - Kuleba

Mediation between Ukraine and Russia to end the war must meet two "fundamental principles."

This was stated by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to European truth.

"We welcome any mediation if it meets two fundamental principles," the head of Ukrainian diplomacy said.

The first principle, according to Kuleba, is that mediation should lead to the full restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity. "No peace plan, no peace initiative, no mediation should provide for the legal or actual loss of Ukrainian territory," the Minister emphasized.

Another principle under which mediation between Ukraine and Russia is possible, the Foreign Minister said, is the absence of a freeze in the conflict, because otherwise "there will be an even greater Russian invasion," as the events of 2014-2022 proved.

"Then there was mediation by Germany and France - the Normandy format. We did a lot of diplomatic work. The conflict was not frozen. I would say it was rather cooled, but it brought us a much, much worse war," Kuleba explained.

As a reminder, in recent weeks a number of countries have offered to mediate in the settlement of a full-scale war between Ukraine and Russia. These include China, Brazil, the Vatican, and South Africa, whose representatives have already traveled to Kyiv and Moscow or are planning to do so.
