Ukraine is unlikely to join NATO before end of war, - Venislavsky

The level of assessment by experts of the capabilities of the Armed Forces is high, but the military-political component remains. Ukraine is unlikely to become a member of NATO before the end of the war.
A member of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, representative of the President in the Verkhovna Rada Fedir Venislavsky stated this during the telethon, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"The level of evaluation of our Armed Forces by the international expert military environment is very high, and only a military-political issue remains. We must be realistic. I think that a decision (on Ukraine's membership in NATO - author) is unlikely to be made before the end of the war, although we would want, and such options are being considered. We hope for it, but reality hardly allows us to be so optimistic. At the same time, the fact that Ukraine in the future, where NATO is in, no longer has any doubts, neither we nor anyone in the world, even the same Russians," he emphasized.
Venislavskyi added that during the alliance's July summit in Vilnius, more specific bilateral or multilateral decisions on Ukraine's closer integration into NATO structures may be adopted.
He emphasized that Ukraine already works with NATO member countries at various levels, including those countries that are skeptical about Ukraine's future membership in the alliance. He also noted that Ukraine already has a number of agreements with various countries regarding security guarantees in the future. Venislavsky believes that these guarantees will not stand in the way of Ukraine joining the alliance.
As Euracitiv reported, NATO members intend to offer Ukraine a renewed format of relations to demonstrate political support for its membership application. However, any concrete road map for entry is still a more distant prospect.
