Blow up of Kakhovka HPP: Crimea will remain without irrigation, but there is enough drinking water there - Chubarov

Occupied Crimea will have enough drinking water this year. Farmers who need water for irrigation will have problems.
The chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Refat Chubarov, said this in an interview with Radio Liberty, Censor.NET reports.
"As a result of the undermining of the dam of the Kakhovka Reservoir, water does not flow through the North Crimean Canal, it does not reach the peninsula. This water was mainly used for the agricultural sector, for irrigating the land. And here Crimea will experience problems. As for drinking water and for the communal economy, this year due to weather conditions, reservoirs in Crimea are full. And this year, if Crimea is not liberated from the Russian occupiers by the end of the year, there will be enough water," he said.
At the same time, Chubarov emphasized that in the future there will still be problems with Crimea's water supply. Ukraine will have to solve them after the liberation of the peninsula.
"Will it be necessary to restore the water supply through the canal, and it is necessary to build a dam again. If this option is not adopted, perhaps new water supply technologies will be found. Perhaps it will be huge waterworks. But still, the Dnipro water must and will be supplied to Crimea , because without it, Crimea will not survive," said the chairman of the Mejlis.
