This year of the war should be a turning point, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine should win this war because they are fighting for their country.

As Censor.NET informs, this was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov in an interview with Fox News.

"I feel that we will win this war because we are fighting for our country. This year will be a turning point," he said.

The minister also added that now Ukrainian troops are not conducting a counteroffensive, and the current maneuvers are "some kind of preparatory operation", admitting that the Russians have built "very strong defensive lines".

Reznikov acknowledged that earlier expectations for the offensive were "overblown" and that Ukraine is very cautious about putting its fighters at risk.

"We are trying to save their lives," Reznikov said. And he called the Russian approach to the use of its troops a "meat grinder."

However, he added that once the offensive begins in full force, it will be successful and "one step closer to victory."

Regarding the statements of the Russian president, who is trying to play the nuclear card, Reznikov noted that the civilized world has arguments against such a strike.

"I think it sounds like a bluff to me personally," the minister replied, adding: "I'm sure the civilized world has arguments against it to convince him."
