Ukraine will receive Western fighter jets, but it will take time - Linkevičius
Former Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius predicts that Ukraine will receive Western combat aircraft, as it has previously received other weapons, but it will take some time.
He said this in an interview with Ukrinform, reports Censor.NЕТ.
"The examples we have just discussed in the case of weapons show that it is possible: HIMARS are coming, Patriots are coming, so fighters will come. I hope not after the counteroffensive, maybe earlier, but this is too high a price to pay. That is why we must speak out clearly about this. And we must fight, but not give up," Linkevicius said.
The former Lithuanian Foreign Minister stated that there are still difficulties with long-term training of pilots, and the logistics chain is also important. But another problem is people who want to maintain communication channels with Russia, the diplomat noted. According to him, "we need time to change this thinking."
