In Riga, heads of parliaments call on allies to continue providing Ukraine with air defense systems, long-range artillery, tanks and aircraft - Stefanchuk
The heads of the parliaments of Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, and Poland called on the allies attending the NATO summit in Vilnius to continue to take measures to provide Ukraine with military and defense equipment, including air defense systems, long-range artillery, tanks, and combat aircraft.
As informs Censor.NЕТ, this was stated by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk after a joint briefing with the speakers of the parliaments of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Ukraine on Monday in Riga.
"The speakers of the parliaments, in particular, called on the Allies participating in the Vilnius Summit to commit to Ukraine becoming a NATO member and the Alliance determining the path for Ukraine's accession to NATO; to support the peace formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky; to continue taking coordinated measures to meet Ukraine's urgent needs for military and defense equipment, focusing directly on air defense systems, long-range artillery and necessary ammunition, tanks and combat aircraft; to assist Ukraine in strengthening its defense capabilities; and to support Ukraine in strengthening its defense and security.
"This is the last decision at the high parliamentary level on Ukraine's membership in the Alliance on the eve of the NATO Summit in Vilnius," Stefanchuk added.
