Using the developed road network, Russian troops can advance in at least three such operational directions. In addition, in general, the area around Bakhmut is a concentration of various kinds of dominant heights, which allow you to control a large part of the area around, on the approaches to Bakhmut. This increases its role as a springboard for further offensive actions.
The next town, Chasiv Yar, begins literally three kilometers after Bakhmut. And here it is very important for us to stop the enemy in Bakhmut, who is there in the lowlands.
