The German government has handed over a new military aid package to Ukraine, which includes 15,000 rounds of ammunition for Gepard, Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery systems, Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 tanks, and reconnaissance drones.

Germany supports Ukraine by supplying equipment and weapons from both the Federal Armed Forces and industrial companies financed by the Federal Government's security capacity building funds.

This list provides an overview of military assistance provided by Germany to Ukraine. It includes deliveries by the Federal Armed Forces, industry and joint assistance measures with partners.

Funding for the Security Capacity Building Initiative is €5.4 billion for 2023 (after €2 billion for 2022) and additional commitment authorisations in subsequent years of €10.5 billion. These funds will be used primarily for military assistance to Ukraine.

Armoured combat vehicles:

  • 18 Bandvagn 206 (BV206) tracked all-terrain vehicles (previously: 8)
  • 10 main battle tanks LEOPARD 1 A5
  • 138 MG3 for LEOPARD 2, MARDER and DACHS
  • ammunition for LEOPARD 1
  • 18 LEOPARD 2 A 6 main battle tanks with ammunition
  • 40 MARDER infantry fighting vehicles with ammunition (from Bundeswehr and industry stocks)
  • 50 MRAP DINGO vehicles
  • 54 M113 armoured personnel carriers with 2 MG* machine guns (Danish system, modernisation funded by Germany)
  • Spare parts for LEOPARD 2 and MARDER

Air defence:

  • 46 GEPARD self-propelled anti-aircraft guns with 21,042 rounds of ammunition (previously: 40/6,000)
  • 2 TRML-4D airborne surveillance radars
  • 2 Iris-TRML-4D air defence systems
  • 2 Iris-T SLM surface-to-air missile systems
  • PATRIOT air defence system with missiles
  • 55,000 rounds of ammunition for GEPARD self-propelled anti-aircraft systems
  • 4,000 rounds of training ammunition for self-propelled anti-aircraft guns
  • 500 man-portable air defence systems STINGER
  • 2,700 man-portable air defence systems STRELA

Artillery:

  • 5,936 rounds of 155 mm smoke ammunition (previously: 3,248)
  • 15,510 rounds of 155 mm ammunition
  • 155 mm precision-guided munitions* *155 mm artillery munitions
  • 5 MARS II multiple launch rocket systems with ammunition (German share in a joint project with the United States and the United Kingdom)
  • 14 Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers (German share in a joint project with the Netherlands)
  • 20 multiple launch rocket systems of 70 mm calibre on pick-up trucks with missiles
  • COBRA counter-battery radar system
  • 10 VULCANO* laser target designators for artillery ammunition.

Ambulances and dental sterilisers were also delivered to the Ukrainian military.
