Almost 9,500 civilians have died in Ukraine since start of full-scale war, more than 16,000 have been injured, - UN

From February 24, 2022 to August 13, 2023, 9,444 civilians were killed in Ukraine, and another 16,940 were injured.
This was reported by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Censor.NET informs.
According to the UN, 545 children were killed and 1,156 were injured.
The UN has stressed that the real death toll is much higher because there are delays in receiving information from some places where the fighting is ongoing, and many reports still need to be confirmed.
"This applies, for example, to the settlements of Mariupol (Donetsk region), Lysychansk, Popasna, and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region), where, according to reports, there have been numerous cases of the death or injury of civilians," the message says.
Since the beginning of August, the UN has managed to confirm the death of 48 civilians (including two children) and the wounding of 210 (including 9 children).
