Kuleba on absence of ambassador of Ukraine in Czech Republic: We are looking for strongest candidate
Ukraine has not yet decided on a candidate for the post of head of the diplomatic mission in the Czech Republic, which has been vacant for over a year.
This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
According to the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, he brought to Prague an agreman for the new Czech ambassador to Ukraine. But they have not yet decided on the Ukrainian ambassador.
"Yugen Perebiynis (left on July 9, 2022 — ed.) was an excellent ambassador here," Kuleba emphasized. But, he reminded, that the work of diplomats is based on the principle of rotation, the ambassador's mission in Prague ended, he returned to Kyiv to the position of deputy minister, thus receiving a promotion.
"Believe it or not, but since that time we have been looking for the strongest candidate who would actually be impeccable for the Czech Republic... There will be an ambassador - but not just any, but the best," Kuleba assured.
According to the minister, several candidates were considered, but none of them was perfect for representing the interests of the state in such an important partner country as the Czech Republic. There are still several candidates, the final decision will be made by the president, with whom Kuleba will speak after returning to Kyiv.
