Bulgaria started buying missiles for coast guard because of Russian threat

As reported by Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Nikolay Denkov stated this.

"At the moment, we do not see a direct threat to Bulgarian ports, but we will respond to force with force. That is why we started buying missiles for the coast guard, so that no one dares to approach our Black Sea cities," Denkov said.

The head of the government added that Bulgaria should develop its naval forces so that they are sufficiently prepared to defend the country.

According to him, the national interest of Bulgaria is that the front line and the aggressor in the person of Russia are as far as possible from the country's borders.

"Russian politicians have repeatedly said that after Ukraine, the Baltic republics and Moldova are next. It's time for Bulgarian citizens to open their eyes to who is the aggressor who wants to restore imperial influence," Denkov noted.

The Prime Minister also noted that Bulgaria will not work with Russia on any energy projects, especially those related to the Belene NPP.

According to him, "the aggressor will be under European sanctions for many years", and therefore it is best for the country to sell the equipment of the unrealized nuclear power plant to Ukraine.
