Poland will not allow import of Ukrainian grain into country after September 15

On September 15, the EU ban on the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower from Ukraine to Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary expires. However, Poland is preparing a draft decision on extending the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
The Minister of Economic Development and Technologies of Poland Valdemar Buda stated this in an interview with Polish Radio, Censor.NET informs.
Negotiations on the extension of export restrictions for Ukrainian grain are ongoing in the European Union.
"We will negotiate with the European Commission until the very end. But we cannot allow Ukrainian grain to enter Poland immediately after the harvest. The priority is Polish farmers. They are the ones who should sell Polish grain and receive an acceptable price for it," Buda said.
He noted that if there is no decision from the European Commission regarding the extension of the embargo, then there will be a decision from the Polish side.
"My powers include issuing the relevant decree and I will block imports to Poland. I will use this tool without hesitation this week, on Friday or Saturday. The draft decree is already being prepared. We will be guided by the principle of food security," he said.
