The Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solsky had a telephone conversation with his Polish colleague Robert Telus.
This was reported in the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Censor.NET informs.
"The ministers discussed the situation, as well as Ukraine's proposal for its settlement, and agreed to find a solution that takes into account the interests of both countries. The parties confirmed the close and constructive relations, which they have repeatedly demonstrated, and agreed, taking this into account, to develop an option for cooperation on export issues in the near future," the message reads.
In the coming days, the parties will hold further negotiations. By then, the Polish side will study the Ukrainian export plan and prepare its proposals.
Also remind, that on September 15, the European Commission refused to extend the temporary ban on the import of Ukrainian wheat, corn, sunflower seeds and rapeseed to the five EU countries neighboring Ukraine, despite the insistence of the governments of Poland and Hungary.
After that, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia announced a decision to unilaterally block the import of Ukrainian agricultural products. The Polish information agency RAR also reported that these countries stopped participating in the Coordination Platform, which was created under the auspices of the European Commission to solve this issue.
In response, Ukraine submitted demands for holding consultations with Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary, by the rules and procedures for dispute resolution within the framework of the Agreement on the Establishment of the World Trade Organization (WTO). In addition, Ukraine warned Poland and Hungary about the introduction of restrictions on the import of agricultural products from these countries.
