The United States will continue to support Ukraine "as long as necessary."

This was stated by Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, Censor.NET reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"Ukraine is confidently moving forward and continues to liberate territory from entrenched Russian occupiers. This is a tough and dangerous fight, and we salute the incredibly brave Ukrainians who are risking their lives to push back Putin's aggressive army. The current battle only emphasizes the importance of security assistance from everyone present here," Austin said, opening the meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine.

Austin also added that his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov and his team will inform allies about Ukraine's counteroffensive.

"We are here to dig even deeper to cover Ukraine's most urgent needs, especially in air defense and ammunition. I look forward to news about new support packages that many countries are preparing," the Pentagon chief said.

Austin also assured that the United States will support Ukraine "as much as necessary."

"As I have said before, I firmly believe that our support for the forces of freedom in Ukraine will be constant at any time of the year and 'in any storm,'" said the US Secretary of Defense.
