Ambassador Korniychuk: Information about Ukrainians in Hamas captivity has not been confirmed

The information that Ukrainian citizens are being held captive by Hamas militants has not been confirmed.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk in a commentary to ZN.UA, Censor.NET reports.
According to him, the information that some Ukrainian citizens who are considered missing have been taken prisoner by Hamas has not been confirmed.
Korniychuk also said that at least 260 Ukrainian citizens are to be evacuated from Israel to Romania in the coming days.
"Today 208 are leaving, tomorrow - 52. And we will form the next flight for October 18. These are all tickets purchased through the embassy," he said.
According to Korniychuk, the data on Ukrainians killed in Israel as a result of the Hamas attack has not changed. Only one person among the killed Ukrainian citizens had a Ukrainian passport.
At the same time, Ukraine is one of the countries with the largest number of victims in Israel during the Hamas attack.
The Ukrainian embassy explained to ZN.UA that the significant number of Ukrainians killed in Israel may be due to the low price of real estate and rent in the areas that were primarily attacked by Hamas terrorists.
There are 240 Ukrainian citizens waiting to be evacuated from Gaza. However, according to Korniychuk, they have not yet been evacuated due to the difficult and uncontrolled situation.
On October 13, Korniychuk reported that, according to preliminary information from the Israeli side, which has not yet been confirmed, Ukrainian citizens may be held captive by Hamas militants.
