Ministry of Defense and Customs Service revealed more than three thousand cases of non-receipt of humanitarian aid by military units

More than 3 thousand cases of non-confirmation of its receipt by military units have been identified. The State Customs Service sent 387 notifications of illegal actions.
This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the website of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
It is noted that the State Customs Service, together with the Ministry of Defense, has created a mechanism for monitoring the flow of humanitarian goods to military units. It provides an opportunity for prompt exchange of information on confirmation of receipt of such goods by military formations and identification of risky customs clearance.
"Thus, during 9 months of 2023, as a result of joint activities of the Department for Smuggling Prevention and Customs Offence of the State Customs Service and the Internal Audit Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, more than 9 thousand facts of movement of humanitarian aid to 200 military units were checked, and more than 3 thousand cases of non-confirmation of its receipt by military units were established," the statement said.
It is noted that in order to stop the detected violations of customs legislation and bring the perpetrators to administrative or criminal liability, customs officers sent 387 reports of an illegal act containing signs of a crime under Articles 190, 358, 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and 320 reports on violation of customs rules where the subject of the offense is humanitarian aid goods.
"We are grateful to public organizations, volunteers and international donors who help Ukraine. At the same time, we remind you that the importation of commercial goods under the guise of humanitarian aid is a violation of the current legislation and provides for liability," the State Customs Service summarized.
