Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis warned against seeking to conclude a peace agreement with Russia, which is waging a war of aggression against Ukraine.

According to him, for Russia, a "peace agreement" means only "time to rearm", Censor.NET reports citing European Pravda.

The minister believes that Western countries are dangerously close to losing the opportunity to put an end to the Kremlin's centuries-old imperial aggression and secure the future of several continents.

"Our children will curse us in the trenches we are digging for them," Landsbergis concluded.

Earlier, NBC News reported that officials from the US and the EU began discussing with Ukraine the possibility of holding peace talks with Russia.

According to the TV channel, these discussions focused on what Ukraine might have to give up in order to reach an agreement.

According to the TV channel's sources, these discussions reflect the situation at the frontline and the political situation in Europe and the United States.

The discussions came amid concerns among US and European officials that the war has reached a stalemate and that they should continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, the officials said.
