Ukrainian pilots have not yet started training on F-16s in Romania - Air Force
The training of Ukrainian pilots on Western F-16 fighter jets continues in the United States and Europe.
This was announced by the spokesman of the Air Force, Yurii Ihnat, Censor.NET reports with reference to LIGA.net.
He said that there is currently no training in Romania yet, combat aircraft have been deployed there, where a training center will be set up.
"This does not mean that pilots are already studying there. Training takes place in the USA and Europe. A center is being created in Romania where pilots will be able to undergo training. Training combat aircraft are two-seater, where the instructor will be able to train the pilot right in the air, this will be the final stage of training," Ihnat explained.
The spokesman noted that the Netherlands and other countries that transfer F-16s to Ukraine want to receive a more modern F-35 aircraft.
Earlier, it was reported that the Netherlands sent 5 F-16 fighters to Romania. A training center for Ukrainian pilots is being formed there.
